Tulips

Tulips are a very popular flower that decorates the edges of gardens and city parks in the spring. Like daffodils and hyacinths, tulips can be grown in pots so that they bloom on our windows at a time when the garden and parks are still covered with snow.

Specially prepared stuffed bulbs of various varieties are best suited for the successful flowering of tulips. Such bulbs are imported from the Netherlands, which is the most famous country in the world for the production of tulip flower bulbs. In order for our early varieties of tulips to bloom in late December or mid-January, we must plant them in pots or planters as early as November. And tulips, like hyacinths, must be kept in a cool and dark place from the beginning.

It is best, if we have the opportunity, to bury the pots with bulbs in the garden and cover with a 10 cm thick layer of soil. If we do not have a garden, it is best to place the pots in a cool room and keep them in the dark. Tulips should only be watered occasionally so that they do not dry out completely. When the bulbs germinate and the sprouts are about 10 cm long, so we feel the flower bud in them, then we take the tulips out into the warm room into the light.
